Commissioner Service

About Commissioner Service

GBH commissioners are a team of unit and roundtable specialists charged with ensuring a quality program for the youth in the district. Commissioners help keep units active and healthy.

Unit commissioners conduct most of the direct contact with units. They measure progress by the growing number of units that recharter and support units in meeting the requirements for a Journey to Excellence designation.

Roundtables provide all Scout leaders in your community monthly opportunities to come together to share experiences, knowledge, and fellowship in a fun and enjoyable setting while producing tools to manage a den, pack, troop, and crew more easily and effectively.  They help units succeed by providing useful program ideas, information on policy, and current information on council and district events, and training opportunities.  It is the most effective medium for getting the Scouting program to units.

We encourage at least one representative from your unit attend theses meetings.

Your District Commissioner

Your district commissioner is the quality control officer who recruits, trains, and leads a staff of commissioners who coach adult leaders of every unit to succeed. The district commissioner is responsible for the unit service function of the district.

This office, currently, is vacant.
